10w4d: My new favorite food group

...is frozen HFCS. Slurpees and popsicles (and sometimes chocolate milk) are about all I can keep down these days. I take my vitamins with them and consider myself good.

I am so excited for the magical 14-week mark, when I will, without a doubt, instantly transform from an ok-I-admit-it-I-once-leaked-pee-when-puking, dog-tired, pelvic-rest-enforced blob into an adorable, glowing, pregnant sex-kitten with tons of energy!

There's no way people are lying about the 2nd trimester, right? RIGHT?

Gah, I *hope* people aren't lying about feeling better in the second tri! That hope is all that's allowing me to keep it together some days.

Twin pregnancy is not for the weak, that's for sure. Who knew it would be this tough? (Not me.)

You will feel better in the 2nd tri- or at least I did! And then you go right back to feeling blah in the 3rd tri. But it will all be worth it!

Chocolate milk is rated as the perfect recovery food for long-distance running, because it has just the right carb/fat/protein ratios. So, yeah, rock on with that! I think making twins is probably similar to running a marathon in many ways!

Also, it sounds like your food group would be potentially compatible with smoothies... so you can get some fiber in from the fruit (and/or veg) and also if you try to throw in some whey protein powder, an awful lot of protein. And protein can sometimes help with the nausea.

I thought the second trimester and what I've experienced of the third trimester thus far, are pretty unequivocally awesome, but I also didn't have HG and have womb for one, so your mileage may vary.

I agree with Guinevere: smoothies with berries and protein powder - I prefer pea rather than whey or soy - would fit perfect into your favorite food group, minus the HFCS.

Anyway, you are so close to that second trimester! Hang in there!

I hope your 2nd trimester is easy for you! Although I have to say my 2nd trimester involved a lot of peeing - and sadly some leaking... Seems those muscles aren't what the normally are...

I eat lots of crappy sugar when I'm nauseated too. Not pregnant, of course, but I have other issues. I wonder what it is about all that processed sugar that makes it stay down.

I hope your second trimester is full of ponies and unicorns just like everyone says it will be!

EDIT: My Captcha is "unhinger." As in, one who is an agent of unhinging? Mwahahaha

Haha, I hope your nausea gets better but it was more like 16 weeks before mine stopped ;) And that whole second trimester energy thing was a complete lie in my case! But whatever, it's all good :)
