HEARTBEATS!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course, it wasn't completely smooth sailing. Baby B popped right into view, measuring right on target, heartbeat easily visible and picked up by the machine at 119. Baby A was harder--my uterus is very retroverted and angled all funky, so they had a hard time even getting proper measurements. It looks like the CRL is about 3 days behind, and the sac 2. So, who knows. The heartbeat was very hard to find, and the machine couldn't pick it up at all. A manual count put it at 80, which is low. But my RE said he thinks everything is "probably" fine, and discharged me to the OB.
So I've got at least one, "probably" two healthy little babies.
I'm hoping I'll be able to enjoy things now...

YES! :) I thought of you today and I was like "when is she going to posttt?" :) So glad things went well. EEK! When is your next u/s?
Congrats! What a big day. Here's to hoping BOTH little guys stay strong.
Congratulations! Hoping Baby B is easier to measure next time around!
Yay!!!! It is so hard to see tiny embryos in a retroverted uterus...I do ultrasound. Grow babies grow! So excited for you :)
CONGRATS!! Saying a prayer that the littlest bean catches up just fine! Very good news overall!
Glad they both have heartbeats! The other baby may be "smaller" just due to the difficulties in imagining a retroverted uterus.
Looking forward to your next baby update to see how the little ones are doing!
Hurray! Congratulations on being discharged to OB and most of all to having heartbeats!
I'm hoping that Baby A measuring behind or having a slow heartbeat is a sign of your uterine anatomy. Even if it's not, though, there's still a good chance everything will be fine with Baby A. (I scoured the literature on slow heartbeats and measuring a half-week behind at 6 weeks when I experienced these during my first pregnancy. Studies seemed to indicate a 40%ish chance of healthy take-home baby.)
Hooray!! Was very happy to read this post!! xx
Congrats!! Such great news :)
Yay! Congrats!!!!
First off: Congratulations for graduating to an OB. That's huge news!
Secondly: keep breathing. It will all work out for the best.
Congrats on graduating to the OB! Yay! And sorry that you didn't get a clear picture of baby B's heartbeat. I wish answers were clearer! Thinking of you. (Tippy)
It must have been hard to hear that Baby A was a bit behind, but here's hoping that your doc is 100% right about it being fine. And you have heartbeats, Marissa. I'm so glad. Beautiful, beautiful thwumping sound.
